Welcome to VIVID online. VIVID is an entirely independent student magazine, produced in a dark room in the heart of Cambridge University. It started as most great things do, the result of a drunken conversation. Many, many drunken conversations later, not to mention a handful of frantically sober ones, and we have a 5,000 strong termly publication.

Our first edition was published at the end of November 2007. It was a small college magazine with only 200 copies. These disappeared quickly and the favourable response gave us the confidence to try and spread the magazine Uni wide. A fusion of helpful guidance and hard work has made this possible, and our thanks go to everyone who has helped us along the way.

The website is the dynamic manifestation of our publication. Here you can read our past issues, check out VIVID videos and have your say on our blog, "VIVID Thought".

VIVID sets a new benchmark for free thinking and liberty of speech, and attempts to reinitiate debate and original thought into our overly consensual society. If you hate what we have to say, we want to hear from you. If you love it, that's cool (if a bit boring).

We hope that some of you will want to get involved in the future. Check out "Contact Us" to find out how.

In the latest issue we plunge, lion hearted, into the coliseum of political, moral and scientific debate to bring you stories from student revolution to science's battle for immortality, from environmental gimmicks to the latest offering from our resident conspiracist, the Nutter.

Because life's not just Black and White...
